Nobody can measure up to her standards as a trainer, not even her daughter, Emmie, who now runs the family's famous stables, Blue Diamond Farms. But returning to Blue Diamond Farms for a family reunion sends Nealy reeling. Emmie has let the farm slide, and she has picked a small, gutsy colt to send to the Derby -- a nice horse, but clearly the wrong one. Suddenly Nealy is back in the game, ready to prove she's not too old to back a winner. Nealy's determined not to let Emmie's poor judgment undermine the reputation of the business she worked so hard to build. Now with the ghost of the past haunting them both, Emmie and Nealy engage in an unstoppable rivalry -- no matter what the dangers, no matter what the costs.Hide synopsis

This is one of a set of 3 books in the series. They are related to the Texas Heat, etc. and Vegas Heat, etc. series. If you're going to read them, you should read the Texas series first, then the Vegas series, and lastly the Kentucky series. I didn't read them in that order, but it would have been better if I had. I have read all 10 of these books (the Texas series has 4, the others 3 each) and enjoyed them. I do like Fern Michaels books in general.
