New in -1 jacket. Would you rather dance with a goat or tickle a monkey, help a witch make a stew or help Santa deliver presents, or eat spider stew or mashed worms? This book depicts such unlikely alternatives. John Burningham's many other books include "Aldo", "Trublov", "Borka" and "Oi! Get Off Our Train".
Amusing children's book by John Burningham, with his usual lovely drawings. Have read it several times to 3 and 5 year olds, who were delighted with it, and they aren't even quite ready to accepts that in many you're supposed to pick the least awful of several terrible (but still funny) choices. Which means it should be good for somewhat older children also.
Publishers Weekly, 2003-01-27 "Would you rather... your dad did a dance at school or your mom made a fuss in a cafe?" Burningham poses this and many more questions for which "humorous (and thought-provoking) vignettes accompany each possibility," wrote PW. Ages 5-8. (Mar.) (c) Copyright PWxyz, LLC.
