As New in as new jacket. AS NEW IN DUST JACKET. Oblong quarto in color illustrated paper-covered boards, grey cloth spine strip. SIGNED BY SENDAK ON THE TITLE PAGE without personalization or inscription. The book still carries the 1963 copyright without any note of additional printings. The dust jacket, which retains the u.s. price of $4.95 on the top corner of the jacket flap (the lower corner where the U.K. price would have appeared, is clipped), notes on the rear flap that this edition was reprinted in 1974. The dust jacket has the gold Caldecott medallion.
Very Good in Fine dust jacket. 006025520x. Oblong 4to 11"-13" tal; 37 pages; Early reprint. Inscribed and signed by Sendak in June of 1982. This 1974 reprint was made from new engravings of the original artwork. This copy was inscribed and dated by Sendak in June of 1982 to Robert Sxxxxxx by Maurice Sendak. Sxxxxxx's bookplate is mounted on the front pastedown. Laid-in at front is an invitation (single, printed pictorial card) to the opening night reception at the Rosenbach Museum & Library on June 8, 1982-Sendak being the Guest of Honor. Sadly, though Sendak is not stingy with his autograph, his signature has increasingly become the subject of forgers and charlatans. This example has a solid provenance with the added inscription manuscript and the ephemeral material retained by the original owner, to whom the book is inscribed. The dust jacket is bright and clean with crisp edges and lush illustration wraparounf. Caldecott medal label attached at front. Non bar coded ISBN to rear panel. Curiously, the book has been bound upside down to the covers and thus I hgave downgraded the condition of the book to VG, though in actual condition it is very nearly Fine as is the dustjacket.; Signed by Author.
This is a classic, few people have any complaints about it and none of these are children. It's one of the first i buy for newborns, knowing they will grow into it, The copy was perfect and came in good time.

Very Good Book
This was a gift to my grandson, and he said he enjoyed it very much. I read it when I was younger.
