This was my first Ted Dekker book, but it's probably also my last. The two villains, Karadzic and Lutz, were horrible, sadistic men. I know Dekker is trying to show the sacrificial quality of true love, but I found the descriptions of the cruel game in Bosnia and the seedy world of drug addiction to be neither entertaining or inspiring. The book seemed too long, and I got tired of Helen always going back to Glenn and the drugs.
