Need to have a religious background to understand this book, when you get past the deepness it does give you something to think about and only if you believe in God.

Well-written, a must read

by LRSfromIN on Nov 27, 2009

Truly a great book for people of all denominations to draw insight from. Rabbi Kushner is a talented writer with the ability to draw from experience to help others better understand the trying times we all experience throughout our lives.

Compassionate care

by HUBBARD on Oct 8, 2009

I found this book to be a genuine, honest attempt to speak of a God who cares. There is no definitive answer to the problem of pain and grief, but Harold Kushner offers insight and challenges into our dealing with it. There is both comfort and mystery offered in an unsolvable human condition. I have lent and recommended this book to several people, all of whom declared it helpful.
