Her letters home to her husband are detailed and warm and she seems to possess the excitement of a child. She describes everything, almost everything, of her cross-country train ride and San Francisco. Her enthusiasm and happiness at seeing their daughter, Rose. Anyone aho appreciates her work would enjoy this book. And there are photographs from the time period (1915). Including a very nice pose of Ms Laura Ingalls Wilder herself.
Publishers Weekly, 1989-06-30 Discovered after her death, these letters--written by Wilder to her husband when she left the Midwest to visit San Francisco--convey a vivid sense of the period, and a similar charm to that found in her classic series. Ages 8-12. (Sept.)
