Near fine in good dust jacket, in fresh mylar cover; lite soiling to pageblock edges, staining to upper right quadron of jacket front, a few tiny cracks to jacket edges else a tight square unmarked copy in unclipped dust jacket.
Near Fine in Near Fine Dust Jacket. First printing, near fien cloth hardcover shows just a touch of wear includign a very faint corner wrinkle to a group of page just prior to the set of black & white plates and I do mean faint, in near fine jacket (price at flap) showing some light soil. 333 pages with some black & whites. Very attractive copy of this notable work from the highly regarded author and gamesman.
Very interesting book that tells about the life of both black and whites in the 1940's - 1960's.
Very " colorfull " in portions but tells it like it was during that time. Goes into the hunting aspect along with the problems facing the farmers/ planters and the growing unrest of the native population. Mr. Ruark has several books about his time and experiences in Africa and everyone is worth reading both from a hunters interest and historical points of country, life style and human view points
