New York. Alfred A. Knopf. 1971. First Edition. Large 8vo. (9 x 6). 301 pp. plus index, colophon. Black and white plates. Text drawings. Well-crafted stories by a master writer. The book is bound in brown cloth with gilt titles. Pictorial dust jacket. A nice book. Fine in a near fine dust jacket.
This book is full of knowledge and written in a style that demonstrates Evans' respect and consideration for the upland shooting life of men, dogs, guns and, most importantly, the birds. I am only half-way through it but I know it will end up in my library as a cherished book.
