I highly recommend this book for those new or just curious to buddhism. It's a good way to start learning about how good is meditation and the buddhism philosophy as a whole.

I find Sakyong Mipham's books to be well written and useful. While combining some references to Tibetan buddhism, they are couched in such a fashion as to provide meaning to a non-buddhist western reader.
