'Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird.' Meet Scout, the narrator of this book. Her story is one of Deep South summers, fights at school and playing in the street. The spooky house of her mysterious neighbour, Boo Radley, sags dark and forbidding nearby. Her brother, Jem, and her friend, Dill, want to make Boo come outside. Her story is about justice. When Scout's father, a lawyer, agrees to defend a black man against an accusation by a white girl, he must battle the prejudice of the whole town. It's about imagination - not just the kind you need for childhood games. Because you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them. The package arrived extremely fast and in perfect condition. The added plus was the paper it was wrapped in, it was a really nice touch and my girlfriend is going to love it. (The book is a gift)

Beautiful Copy of a Classic--Stick with Alibris
I wanted to gift my wife a 50 th Anniversary reissue of To Kill a Mockingbird . I usually use Alibris but for convenience ---I elected to buy a copy from another online vendor described as in"very good" condition and pictured with a dustcover. Book arrived in horrible shape--no dustcover, multiple underlined passages and dog-eared pages and pages from another book stuffed into the book. Took several weeks to get a refund--even then there were out of pocket costs for mailing it back. Purchased this perfect "brand new" copy from Alibis -arrived in pristine condition.
Though I have used Alibris for this type of purchase about 95% of the time now it is 100%.

I had never read this classic novel, and I am so glad I finally did. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.
Publishers Weekly, 2006-09-04 Lee's beloved American classics makes its belated debut on audio (after briefly being available in the 1990s for the blind and libraries through Books on Tape) with the kind of classy packaging that may spoil listeners for all other audiobooks. The two CD slipcases housing the 11 discs not only feature art mirroring Mary Schuck's cover design but also offers helpful track listings for each disk. Many viewers of the 1962 movie adaptation believe that Lee was the film's narrator, but it was actually an unbilled Kim Stanley who read a mere six passages and left an indelible impression. Competing with Stanley's memory, Spacek forges her own path to a victorious reading. Spacek reads with a slight Southern lilt and quiet authority. Told entirely from the perspective of young Scout Finch, there's no need for Spacek to create individual voices for various characters but she still invests them all with emotion. Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning 1960 novel, which quietly stands as one of the most powerful statements of the Civil Rights movement, has been superbly brought to audio.
