My siblings and I grew up with this c. 1944 book since we were preschoolers in the late 1940s. It includes classics like The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood, but many of the stories I have never seen anywhere else-my favorite was The Wolf and the Kids. I read these stories to my children who read them to their children until our old book started to fall apart from love. Our 6-year-old granddaughter just read her favorite story, The Little Wee Woman, to her grandfather, giggling with every sentence. The Little Old Woman and the Pig is a great read-aloud story. The fabulous old-world illustrations are like nothing you have ever seen before. Our old favorite with the wood-grained cover had a green dust jacket which is rare to find.
