Just Like His Albums

by JHenry on Jan 10, 2008

This is a collection of stories, as it tells you in the description. Some explain some of the songs or characters you've met in his songs, such as Desdemona or Off To See The Lizard. Others are great inside stories about how he started playing guitar and singing, found a second home in Key West and became the person we know today. Much like his albums, there are some clunkers that will annoy you and there are some gems that will touch your heart and stay with you forenver. If you only know him for his music, this is a great way to learn more about the person and get introduced to his book writing. "A Pirate Looks At Fifty" would have to be the follow-up, but this should be read first. If you prefer fiction, start with "Where Is Joe Merchant" or see "Jolly Mon" or "Trouble Dolls" for beautifully-illustrated and nice children's stories.
