This book certainly has a large variety of ice cream, but only about half the book is ice cream. The rest is sauces, sorbets, etc. Most of the recipes have to be cooked. Both the cooked ones and the ones that aren't cooked ask you to refrigerate them for several hours or days. Way too long to wait and too much work to me.
I use my 'Donvier Ice Cream Dessert Book' by Anna Creery and I mix my ingredients, pour them into my frozen cansiter, stir off and on for 20 - 30 mins. and put it into a container and let it finish hardening in the freezer. In my opinion the Donvier book should be called the 'Best Ice Cream Book Ever.' It certainly has easier methods. Yes, it has cooked recipes as well as non cooked, but you don't have to wait near as long to use the ingredients.
