For years, Bill Owens' 1973 "Suburbia" was out of print and a much sought-after cult classic. In 1999, it was re-issued in a revised hardbound edition with a new essay by David Halberstam, and numerous color images published for the first time. This amazing dissection of the Northern California suburban sprawl of the late '60s and early '70s is truly one of the great American photography books of the last quarter of the 20th Century. This example is one of one hundred and fifty copies only privately editioned by Bill Owens himself. It is housed in a custom yellow cloth slipcase, with a SIGNED 5 x 7" black and white photographic print laid in, suitable for framing. A pristine copy.
