Discreet, embossed "library of" stamp on front and rear endpaper. Bit of tape residue of unknown orgins on front/rear pastedowns. Text and illustrations in excellent shape. Jacket with wear and creasing at extremities, two very short tears, plus a bit of soiling to rear panel.

This is a Good Copy of this Book in rather stained cream cloth with gilt title lettering to spine, in a Good dust-jacket that has a few small closed tears to the outer edges of the wrapper and there is one crease line across the front cover of the dust-jacket. Not price clipped and this copy has NO previous names or inscriptions present. Pretty clean copy internally with NO foxing and there are NO loose pages etc. The book has a firm binding with no hinge weakness, illustrated with some wonderful b&w plates and with maps as endpapers plus one folding map present to rear of the book. Acceptable jacket. Ex library book in good condition. Minor shelfwear to the dustjacket, contained in a plastic sleeve which has been previously taped on to the book resulting in small tape marks to the pastedowns. Binding is tight and firm. Pages lightly tanned and free from handwritten notes to the text. A good condition copy, with usual library stamps and stickers present. Good condition is defined as: a copy that has been read but remains in clean condition. All of the pages are intact and the cover is intac.
