This is a great little book to learn about philosophy without all that dry stuff you find in dusty old books and just as dusty old libraries.
The lead character is a 14-year old girl who learns about life in some really cool ways that the kid in us will readily identify with . . . I loved reading about Socrates and Plate. I never did like Aristotle despite what the Middle Age philosophers tried to do to resurrect his ideas.
I loved how the author dealt with Spinoza and Locke and made every philosopher come alive.
Enjoy this book leisurely!

Not the same version as shown by the cover photo. I received an older version that had some writing in it. It is still a great read though.

Sophie's World is a well laid out history of signifigant philosophical history intertwined with a story of two girls; Sophie and Hilde who are both adolescants. The historical facts are broken up nicely by their somewhat lighthearted attitudes and lives, This is a good starting point for those who want to figure out how we (humanity) have gotten to this point in our collective understanding.

Philosophy wrapped around a story...or is it the other way around? An excellent book for youth and adults!

Presents a straight-forward yet entertaining look on the different worldviews we encounter in life. A great introduction to philosophy book for youth, but really for all ages.
