This is the finest book in the genre available. It provides project homes & shelters for a large variety of animals without predjudice. This is NOT a build a cutsie birdhouse, and put it in the garden kind of book. This is a 'hosting wildlife' kind of book This book also lists what type of food is required & preferred for each type of bird and several animals. Excellent photography brings you close to all kinds of wildlife, and shows the projects clearly in situ, some decorative, some with the more 'natural' finish that birds actually prefer. There is so much information about hosting wildlife, you're sure not to just 'build a birdhouse',you're going to build a birdhome. Only the title lends itself to humor, the rest of the book is straightforward information intense. Never was I bored with is book, I actually became fascinated about bathouses, & bee shelters. I wanted to jump right up and make these projects. The writing is supurb. I can't possibly praise this book enough.
