Gardeners of all levels of experience will find their practical planting advice to be plenty useful, but you do not need a green thumb to enjoy their wondrous mixture of philosophy and poetry, which wind through the book like a clematis plant. Their depictions of roses, lilacs, and wisteria demonstrate an artist's eye and a poet's verse, while their pontifications on the inherent worth of a garden will make anyone rush to pick up a pot and trowel.Hide synopsis
