Lovely on the Liturgy But...

It is lovely the way that Kathleen Norris interweaves scripture throughout the book and illuminates the way in which daily housework and the domestic arts contribute to a spiritual life and offer opportunities for deepening it. However, her assertion that such tasks are otherwise "meaningless" shows a residual feminism that is either part of her or represents a compulsion to kowtow to feminism. The domestic arts are not meaningless tasks, anymore than a having a home, rather than having a just a house, is an empty idea.
