An excellent read by Greg "Pappy" Boyington! An unlikely hero, he tells of real life experiences with Marine Corp Fighters of the 158. It contains some strong language which I did not particularly care for, but it was his life and his experiences. As an alcoholic, the book reveals that our "fate is often larger than our flaws." For those interested in World War II History, it is a very good read!
This is a very good book by a genuine hero who is also an excellent writer. A very unique combination seldom found in similar books. This book stands tall among my other WW II books. It may be the best of the lot.
