This concise and entertaining bridge book by one of bridge's best players is clearly written and provides a new outlook for both novice and more experienced players. I've played for a long time, but some of Marty Bergen's ideas on bidding were new to me.

mostly for beginners
I've heard so many acclaimations for this book I decided I just had to have it. But I was very disappointed. Most of the points he raises in his articles made me go "so what's new about that?" A total novice who's still taking his baby steps will profit from the book because a lot of the points raised aren't yet ingrained into them yet. But once you are a past a certain level the book's not too interesting anymore.
