Their goal is the Cro-Magnon settlement in what is now southern France where Jondalar lived as a young man. Accompanied by the half-tame Wolf, the superb stallion, Racer, and the mare, Whinney, they brave both savage enemies and the elemental dangers of weather and terrain in their search for the place that will become Home. Jean Auel's imaginative reconstruction of pre-historic life, rich in detail of language, culture, myth and ritual, has become a set text in schools and colleges around the world.Hide synopsis

This was another of the Jean Auel novels which I sent a friend in Illinois. I have not read it, myself, but sent it when he expressed and interest in receiving it.
It came well before Christmas, in time for me to send it to him, and arrived at our home in excellent condition.
This is a Christmas gift for our niece. My husband and I have both read the Earth's Children books and have been buying them for our niece, who is also addicted to them. Can't wait for the new one in March!
I'm reading the last of the series now. My friend started one of them and has finished them already. She even wrote to Jean Auel to tell how much she enjoyed them. Can't wait for the last book to come out..
