I read this book with high hopes, because like so many I loved Pride and Prejudice. This book however was not something that I would recommend. I hated how the character of Mrs. Elizabeth was portrayed, as she did not come out as the strong heroine we know and love. She is what made Pride and Prejudice. It was said best when someone said she seems like the desperate housewife in this book. The only good part was that it was short, and that it did have some parts that were redeeming of it. Other parts were not coherrent with the original Pride and Prejudice which does make you think if the author has read pride and Prejudice. These you can easily see for yourself. Anyway Happy read!

If you always wondered what would happen with Elizabeth and Darcy from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice-- this is your chance to find out. Emma Tennant picks up Austen's literary style in a very seemless way.
