Condition: Good, with light shelfwear to covers with light sunning to very edges of covers. Light foxing to top edge of textblock of both volumes, not affecting text in any way. Bindings sound, text clean, no inscriptions. Dustjacket condition: Good, with light shelfwear. Vol 1, 248pp. Vol II, 438 plates, a large proportion in colour. Begun by Andrew McLaren Young who died in 1975, it was completed and prepared for publication by Margaret MacDonald and Robin Spencer who were both his colleagues and his pupils. Every painting of which there is a record has been catalogued, including many which have since disappeared. The fullest possible details of the history, provenance and sources of each picture are recorded, along with all the appropriate physical details.
