New Basics gives more than one recipe for a dish. For instance, it gives several recipes for meatloaf, one is the simple, standard, tasty meatloaf. The other is a really, really tasty excellent meatloaf which has many more ingredients and somewhat more complicated preparation. I've only used a few recipes from the book so far, but they've been very tasty. This is a good book.
