I am retired and I read a lot. I am currently reading all of the previous Edgar Award winners. I must say Mr. White's Confession is one of the worst books I have ever read. It was a total downer. Women were killed, the killer was never identified, the wrong man went to jail for many years, and the good cop lost his girlfriend for no good reason. A very unsatisfying book. I wanted to strangle the author when i finished it.
