Aside from the singing pigs, this is your basic farm-animal-noises book. Nonetheless, there are the silly Boynton illustrations to enhance this favorite preschooler topic. If your child wants you to read a farm animal book over and over, make it this one. Check out Boynton's other books for more jokes and rhythms.

Happy, funny book
Good board books have a page-turning rhythm that keeps the story moving. Great board books also have rhythm in the text. This is a great board book. The illustrations are Boynton-style excellent: perky and quirky. "Cows say MOO; sheep say BAA; three singing pigs say LA LA LA." Need I say more?
