Mooney. There are 15 titles listed in two columns with the Random House New York below the titles and the numbers 394-82490-3 on the lower/inner corner. The D. J. Has the $2.50 price in the right corner of the front flap (not price clipped). At the top of the rear d. J. Is the Logo, then a 3 line quote from the Boston Herald Traveler, then 4 lines of text. All of these features are why I've listed it as a first edition. If you additional questions to establish edition, please ask prior to ordering. The D. J. Has a 3 closed tear near the spine and edges but because the d. J. Is now protected in mylar, they are quite unnoticeable. There is an erasure on the front free fly leaf and penciled in name of prior owner. Size: Sm 4to (9-11 inches tall). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket. 0394824903. Number 13 in the Bright and Early Books series. Illustrated by the author. First edition. Light foxing to board edges, else very good in a very good (three inch crease from the base of the front panel, foxing about the edges) dust jacket. The dust jacket has the original $2.50 price in the upper corner of the front flap and lists to this title on the rear panel.
Very Good in Very Good dust jacket. 0394824903. Text is clean. Glossy pictorial cover shows some wear, rubbing evident to bottom edges of front/rear covers, base of spine bumped. Previous owner name stamped on front free endpaper and front pastedown. Dust jacket shows some edgwear, has one closed tear to front panel along top edge. Dust jacket contains all first printing points (Younger/Hirsh) except for lack of price on dust jacket flap. Cliff Erickson of To & Again Books notes this anomaly is not documented in Younger/Hirsh and according to his research is more scarce than the DJ with the $2.50 price. Near Fine + in Very Good Plus jacket. A charming First Edition, First Printing of this Dr. Seuss title. In near fine + condition with minuet touches of wear, barely visible. Decorative boards clean and bright. Artwork on front and end pages impeccable. Pages throughout book are clean, crisp with shockingly bright colors. Appears in unread condition, tightly bound, very sharp corners. Dust jacket protected in archival cover. Dust jacket in very good + condition. Minor chipping at extrimities with closed 1/2" tear at spine end. Closed tear less than 1/2" at top edge of rear wrapper. Discoloration at spine, however text is still bright and clear. Front and rear wrapper bright and clean. All first edition points intact [Younger & Hirsch pp 126-127]. Front and rear flaps in bright and clean condition, price of "$2.50" intact. In overall sound and beautiful condition. Comes in a special blue cloth slipcase. A very nice copy.
