By far the best watercolor book I own and the one I most use. One of the few that addresses pigment and the only one that directly names and centers discussion on the colors most of us own.
While not a book for beginners, and not a recipe book, this is a logical, progressive explanation of why and how to make color glow. Dobie includes ample examples, tips, and ways to analyze and fix our most common mistakes. The chapters are short, and packed with information, but reward even a slow progression.
I highly suggest getting the hardcover rather than the paperback, since the colors in it are considerably sharper and clearer--both necessities in a book about color.
