This is a detailed case history of the author's own fatal illness, multiple Myeloma. When it was diagnosed in 1994, at age 54, he was given six months to live. He opted to explore all possible treatments that were available and decided to manage the cancer his own way with the help of many medical professionals both of Western medicine and of alternative medicine which included traditional treatments from other cultures. He survived the cancer for 11 years and died of an infection in 2005. He was a wonderful writer. This book is clear, informative, and witty. His own humanity and personality come through to make the reading of it a most exhilarating and enlightening experience. Whether a person has cancer or not, one will gain a great deal of insights and knowledge from it. The book also provides ample and detailed references.
