I had heard about it, but the book made it clear exactly what was involved. I had too much copper in my soil, so we did raised beds first, and then the cardboard, manure (rabbit and horse) in layers alternating with straw. Now it's time to plant, but the rows look beautiful. Thanks.
The process described assumes that you don't have good garden soil. By the time you buy all that peat moss you may as well just as well buy your vegtables from the local farmers market.
However it is an interesting way to start a garden from scratch in a short time.
The concept is great, no digging and the book gives lots of good hints. It's a bit 'american' and seems to be written for children more than serious gardeners. Not bad though and I will be trying it out next year
