A marvellous scholarly study of the Navajo culture---originally, there was no written Navajo language, so it was (and is) a fluid, growing language, reflecting the philosophy, religion, history and art of the Dine. I bought this when I began taking a conversational Navajo class, since I live in the 4 Corners area, and I found it to be an invaluable support for both my study and my life as neighbor to Navajos. This is a fascinating read, and particularly so if you live or spend time in Navajo country.
