I know many people including some in my book group appreciate the fiction of Jesus' early life. I am a bit too conservative in my religious piety to appreciate this story. It is well written, it just isn't my cup of tea.

Get to know the real Jesus
This account explains much of what the gospels leave out. Humorous, irreverent, but in good taste.

After the hoopla this book has received, and the glowing and passionate reviews by many of my friends, I was disappointed. I found it amusing but laughed out loud only once or twice. An interesting take on a story we all know well, but definitely not a must-read. (I would recommend it only to friends I thought would really get a kick out of it.)
