Very good. The spine ends and edges of the covers are lightly rubbed. There is a thin 1 inch long ripple in the cloth of the front board. The rear pastedown is stained with the publisher's glue, there is a contemporary gift inscription on the front free endsheet. The dust jacket is in good condition only, with yellowing, light rubbing, and general soiling. The rear panel is more heavily soiled and stained than the front panel. There are 4 or 5 small closed tears in the edges. The longest closed tear measures 1 inch long. The edges are also creased and have multiple small chips and losses. The largest loss is from the paper at the head of the spine, and measures 1 inch wide by 1/2 inch deep. With 237 reproductions on 100 plates (3 of double size).
