He spent 16 years before the first publication of this study working with a constant number of 200 dogs; over 4, 000 puppies were produced and studied for traits of coat coloring.

Previous owner's name is marked out with black marker on inside of front cover. The bottom corner of page 191 is torn and missing but it contains no text.
