INSCRIBED by Padgett to George Schneeman and his wife: "For George and Katie / Love, kisses, smooches, slobbers, blubbers, / weeping / Ron / November 1967." Second edition (after the 1964 edition), one of 200 numbered copies, this being #140. Inscribed to artist George Schneeman. Schneeman was one of the most frequent collaborators with the second generation of the New York School poets and writers, a scene Padgett himself introduced the painter to upon his moving to New York from Italy in 1965. Padgett and Schneeman were close friends. Schneeman's work with poets was documented in Painter Among Poets: The Collaborative Art of George Schneeman (Granary Books, 2004), edited by Padgett. A warm and significant association. Cover and drawings by Joe Brainard.
