Signed by Author First printing of the author's first book, very good in a very good dust jacket. The green boards are slightly faded at top and bottom edge. and the yellow cloth spine is slightly soiled along the top. Thin line of darkening on front and rear pastedowns where the flaps of the jacket were taped, and smaller areas of offsetting on the endpapers. The jacket has a little edgewear, and a small area of loss at the bottom of the front panel. The tape was neatly removed from the endpapers and flaps, leaving a little yellowing along the edge of both flaps, about 3" to 4". Signed by the author on the title page: "Peace, Tim O'Brien". A high spot in Vietnam War literature.
8.5 x 5.75, cloth backed boards, 199 pp, covers rubbed, edges faded, extremities bumped, some foredge spotting, front hinge loose, ink inscription (from "Tim"...the author? ) else a decent copy in an edge-torn, worn dw with diagonal fold on back flap. FIRST PRINTING. Priced for edition/condition only; we do not consider the possible authenticity of the autograph as a factor.
