I thought that this book has the most beautifully painted illustrations, and they are skillfully coordinated with the flow of the story. Both the author and the illustrator really bring a little bit of history to life. The story reminds the reader that the mummies of ancient Egypt were once living people, and should be viewed with respect. I thought this was a nice introduction of history to young children whose family may have plans to take them to a museum. The author has made it easy to read, yet doesn't "dumb down" their way of communicating the story to a young reader.
