The author's stated purpose in these books was to create interest in the local history of California; to make knowledge of the historic spots of different localities available to tourists; and to arouse state-wide interest in preserving the vanishing historic landmarks which still survive. First edition (first printing) of all three volumes. Very good copies in yellow cloth covers with mild soiling and spotting to covers. Former owner name on front pastedown in each volume. Lacking the dust jackets.
