Great book if you were one of us kids who collected baseball cards in the 50s-60s. Before the gold plated cards of today, these simple cardboard works of art are presented in a way by the author that links you back to those days. You can even taste the hardened stick of bubblegum that came in the packs. The critique of those 'bad' players might be a little ruffling and those who had off the field newsworthiness were singled out in the book . The section on the 'inventor' at Topps of these cards was insightful. Easy yet good read.
