From an advanced landing field, striking hard and escaping fast, our old friends from Hornet Squadron (Piece of Cake) play Russian roulette, flying their clapped-out Tomahawks on ground-strafing forays. Meanwhile, on the ground, the men of Captain Lampard's S.A.S. patrol drive hundreds of miles behind enemy lines to plant bombs on German aircraft. This is the story of a war of no glamour and few heroes, in a setting often more lethal than the enemy.Read Less

Having read most of Mr. Robinson's war stories I easily admit that A GOOD CLEAN FIGHT is my all time favorite. This story has characters which carry over from one of his previous titles, PIECE OF CAKE, (which is my second favorite of Mr. Robinson's books) and follows those men to North Africa during World War II. The addition of a British SAS Long Range Patrol team and some enthusiastic Germans make this a fully involved, delightfully wicked story with great black humour, an engaging plot and a few sudden twists that will make you laugh and cringe at the same time. If you enjoy well told war stories then this one will most likely delight you.
