Very Good- 12mo 7"-7½" tall; 498 pages; HC in original green cloth with title lettering in gilt to spine. 1st edition. Sound and square. Cloth nicked and a little frayed at spine ends. A prior owner's bookplate roughly removed from the recto of the color frontispiece has resulted in a mild, short closed tear in the image are of the color plate. Short closed margin tear to plate page mended with archival japanese tissue tape. Mild bump to the top front corner of the text block with resulting mild stress crease across the tips of page block. Illustrated with silhouette vignette endpages, color frontis and many in text line drawings by Rountree. Solid copy. VG-
