Road trip to Bisbee

by Skyhopper on Aug 7, 2008

A wonderful adventure of the author's return trip to the Southeastern town of Bisbee, Arizona. Richard Shelton landed his first teaching job in the long ago mining town near the Mexican border. It is a delightful story of his encounters with the colorful local characters as well as a bit of history of the town of Bisbee and the mining operations that went on in that community. The story covers his trip from his present home in Tucson, Arizona down the road to revisit the town and the people of his beloved Bisbee. This is a delightful read and gives one a down to earth view of this community in Cochise County, a town characterized in many of J.A. Jance's novels of a fictional small town sheriff, Joanna Brady, in her novels centered in this area. I recommend this highly for its humor, history and human interest.
