Despite the unusual title, this book contains much wisdom to guide the reader to stress reduction. Clear prose, thoughtful, practical advice, tested suggestions from a man who has spent years helping people cope with the ordinary, and extraordinary, situations one may encounter on the path.
Kabat-Zinn's guide to mindfulness meditation has been a text book for me in coping with my chronic illness. Although it is directed to people with heart disease, cancer, and other fatal illnesses, this book avoids hype and the easy answers that characterize most self-help books. The author offers documented advice on the medical and spiritual aspects of confronting disease.
