He examines topics such as fixations and fascinations, diets, sleep, problems with socializing at school, dating, homework, dealing with bullies, moral dilemmas, and, even, an explanation of idioms that are particularly perplexing for those with Asperger's syndrome (e.g. "feeling under the weather?"; "bark is worse than his bite").Hide synopsis

Luke's personality and wit shine in this enlightening take on living with autism and Asperger Syndrome. I am training to become a special education teacher, and I found this book to be both herat-warming and eye-opening. I recommend it to anyone who has been diagnosed or has family or friends diagnosed with autism.
The title of this book intrigued me as it aptly described my grandson. The book is written by a British teen who has Asperger Syndrome, a form of autism. He is also a self-described computer and computer-game expert, thus a "geek". I bought the book for my grandson, but read it through myself and found it a handy, down-to-earth guide of living with asperger through one's teen years. The young man who wrote this book was matter-of-fact about his disorder and how he coped with school, family, friends, and girls he wished to impress through the perils of obssessive behavior, a childhood of strange behaviors, and his daily control of actions that would be very strange to "normal" teens. He wrote with humor and great understanding. Even though the teen lived in England, his experiences certainly are comparable to teens in America. A wonderful book for not only the teen with Asperger, but anyone who knows such an individual - parent, sibling, friend, teacher, or relative. I really enjoyed this book.
