This classic work on rock gardening was first published in 1919 and remained the standard work for many decades. Farrer was a noted plant collector and explorer who tragically died in upper Burma in 1920 on a plant-hunting expedition. No ownership marks. Some marginal annotations in pencil, slight edge wear to outer joints; a tight and clean very good copy.

The boards are mildly tanned along the spine with bumped corners and general rubbing on all sides. There are long white stains along the spine too.
