We welcome you. And Mr. Ted Piccone is a senior fellow and deputy director for foreign policy at the Brookings Institution. From 2001 to 2008, Mr. Piccone served as executive director and co-founder of the Democ-racy Coalition Project. He is a veteran of Capitol Hill and the executive branch. From ' 98 to 2001, he was associate director of the State Department's Policy Planning staff. From ' 96 to ' 98, he was director for Inter-American Affairs at the National Security Council. He also served as a policy adviser in the Office of the Secretary of Defense from ' 93 to ' 96.
