Walter C. Willet has put together a complete guide for good nutrition, taking the US Pyramid to task for not including important information, though now the US has suggested some of the same things Willets recommends. This book is a great introduction to good nutrition, though it might be hard to follow all his precepts in our current food environment. But it's good to know what is best for you, even if you don't always follow the precepts.
