Dreadnought. Their story, and the story of the era, filled with misunderstanding, missed opportunities, and events leading to unintended conclusions, unfolds like a Greek tragedy in this powerful narrative. Intimately human and dramatic, "Dreadnought" is history at its most riveting.Hide synopsis

This is a fine and sweeping account of European affairs, especially the growing rivalry between Germany and England in the decades leading up to WW I. Long, but very readable. It is not about the famous class of warships given that name, Castles of Steel is. Read Dreadnought first, then Castles.
