Incredible Read

DMT: The Spirit Molecule is a phenomenal book. If you have any curiosity in psychology, mysticism, altered consciousness, psycho-pharmaceuticals, or sciences, this book is one for you. Rick Strassman tells this story in a very interesting way. The first half of the book goes through the process of obtaining the licenses from the DEA to possess the substance and the approval from the FDA to allow the DMT to be given to people. This half also contained the process of selecting the volunteers. Not everyone who wanted to join the study was considered mentally stable. The reasons for the careful selections of volunteers were because of the intensity of the drug. Some people would not have been able to handle such a mind blowing and conscious altering change. The second half of the book contained the notes Strassman took while the volunteers were under the influence of the substance. The experiences varied from deep insight on personal issues which the participants were facing, to alien abductions and probing, vivid encounters with elves bringing gifts to them, and terrifying attacks from bug like creatures. Some of the participants were unable to cope with the encounters that they faced and had to undergo therapy post DMT sessions. The other topic which Strassman addresses is the possibility of the connection between alien abductions and DMT sessions. He also touched on the possibility of DMT inducing the actual transportation of someone?s consciousness into another dimension of actual alien encounters. All in all, this novel was one of the top 5 best novels I have ever read though. The book is very thorough and does not leave out any details which need answering to. Five star rating!

I found this book very readable. The author explained his theories and experiments in a concise and easily understandable manner. I learned a lot about psycholdelic drugs and the pineal gland. I found the subject of DMT fascinatiing. jen
